There will be a new try for my family this coming CNY eve. We decided to settle our reunion dinner by eating out. I explored lotsa restaurants' webbies and compared their menus... price are really steep... We finally decided on River City Restaurant @ Excelsior Hotel. Their menus are not exactly cheaper... but they offered 8 dishes, which is the most among menus of the same price.
Kan Chiong me made a trip down to the restaurant during lunch time today to pay for the deposit... I was "amazed" by how old that hotel is... Pardon me for being ignorant but I really know nuts about Singapore hotels...
The first sight I saw when I stepped into the hotel lobby... an uncle whom I suppose is the bellboy of the hotel was struggling with tons of luggages .. he is actually quite advance in age.... felt quite sorry for him.
I took the lift up to 4th floor and I was "amazed" again... this time round.. I'm amazed by the antique lift buttons... the buttons for "door close" and "door open" is so antique that I couldn't find them until someone pressed it.
Finally, I reached the restaurant.... but before that... Big shinny KTV lounge signages welcomed me... Felt like I'm in the 80's... haha I stood outside the restaurant for awhile... having a second thought... should I really booked a table in that restaurant for my precious once in a year reunion dinner? I decided to give it a chance... maybe their food will be nice? who knows right? The place may look abit run-down but their food may be superb...
I approached the waitress or captain of that restaurant to pay the deposit... she was reasonably friendly to me at first but there was a little twitch in her attitude when I told her my table will only be 4 pax... hmmm.. never mind... I'm the one who suggested this restaurant... what to do?
