Had a strange encounter yesterday on my way home from school. I alighted the bus and headed straight to Clementi MRT station... Just when I'm approaching the escalator, I saw this lady who was infront of me, rejecting a flyer from an uncle. Well, it's a pretty common sight in Spore for ppl to reject flyers...
I went up the escalator and felt someone rushing up behind me... It's the uncle! He pushed that slip of flyer onto my hand and rushed down the escalator again... he's so agile! I was stunned... so did that lady in front of me.... I had a glance at the flyer and realised it's not any flyers.. it's a bank deposit slip... daang!
The lady curiously asked me what's that slip about.. but she was too late as I've crushed that paper right infront of her.. lol We both had a good laugh and really puzzled on the uncle's actions... best part... I can't throw that slip away... Spore MRT stations have no rubbish bin!
Having a second thought... I opened up the crushed slip and read what's written inside.... hmmmmmmm
Here's what written on the slip:
Help 24 Hrs Donation Post to: (S)' S.A. Flag Day 10 Tampines Street 81 Singapore (529014) Tel: 6536 5916 Fax: 6284 5702 ChequeI went online to check out this organisation .. and realised it's Singapore Soka Assosciation... now here comes my question...
Since they are not giving people their account number, then why are they using bank deposit slip to write their details? Writing it on blank paper can serve the same purpose right?
New marketing strategy for non-profitable organisation?
I am not in doubt with the credibility of Soka... but just don't understand on what had happened to me.
Hmmmm... Weird and scary (I mean the uncle)
